"Marriage Retreat @ Gatlinburg, Tn" Feb 2012

So I wanted to go to a marriage retreat that the army provides for couple and my husband surprised me and signed us up. On these retreats we have workshops on how to strengthen our marriage as well as they provide us time to spend quality time with our spouse. The best part is that they pay for it all except for food and gas to drive there. The workshops were great and were very helpful. Being married to a spouse that is in the military can be really hard but we do it to support them and also for our country. This picture above is the room we stayed in, nice huh... it had a beautiful view of the mountains when you open the curtains...
Here we are at one of the aquariums, it was so much fun...

Here we are standing in front of the we're expecting sign.... We thought it would be cute to stand and take a pic...
Here I am with some of the military wives

"Boy or Girl!" Feb. 2012

So the time We have been waiting for. Due to my husband being in the army they were doing some night mission training and since he has soldiers underneath him he had to take charge and train them. We were so angry when they told him he couldn't go with me to my appointment to find out the sex of the baby. So what we did is I went alone and had the tech lady put the sex on the cd picture if it was a girl or boy. Then when Garett would come home we would look at the pictures and find out together. It was so hard to contain myself but I did it.
Garett later arrived home around 3am and he anxiously woke me and told me lets look at the pictures I want to know what we're having. So we were flipping through the many pictures and to our surprise we found out we're having a Girl. Yes, a girl!!! Garett was so shocked cause he thought we were gonna have a boy. I was happy to see that he was still very happy and excited that it was a girl even though he was looking forward to a boy. Then we went upstairs and went to bed.

"Garett's 30th Birthday" Jan. 2012

It was my husband's birthday and I wanted to do something special for him so I decided to bake a cake and invite his best friend over to hang out with him. The cake turned out so delicious I must say. I sliced the middle and filled it with chocolate filling. I also added fresh strawberries and added some glaze on it. I'm was so thrilled that the cake turned out really good and that my sweetie loved it.
I didn't have too much money for gifts but I did my best to make this day a special day for him. I love you, Garett!!!

"15 weeks along" Jan 2012

So I haven't been doing so well keeping up with my blog but these are just updates till I get to the more recent stuff... :-) After our xmas break I decided to take some baby bump pics. I wasn't so good at this either because most of the time I felt sick. The doctor had to prescribe me some medication so that I would throw up less since I lost a few pounds. So you can imagine why I didn't take so many pictures, its hard to get all prettied up when you feel sick and so exhausted. Any who you are gonna see some weeks where I took the time to take some pics... In these pictures I am 15 weeks along. We still haven't found out the sex of the baby here yet.
Sorry if the lighting of the pics are kind of weird but the bathroom was the only place that had good enough lighting to take pictures at...

"Colorado Sledding with the Family" Dec. 2011

So after opening gift Christmas day we decided to go sledding down theses bunny slops in a park close to my in-law's house. With me being pregnant I didn't do too much sledding.. I mostly watched as they would go down....

Garett, Thomas, Kevin and Papa posing for the picture before all the fun begins...

Krysta and Garett were one of the first ones to go down the bunny hills...

Garett convinced me of going down the bunny hill with him... It was so much fun... I wanted to go more but I was just worried of getting hurt with me being pregnant and all... But Garett did a good job at making sure we didn't tip over or rolled down...

Garett held me tight to make sure we were safe... Baby and I...

I know I look huge but you got to remember I was all layered up and plus I'm pregnant here about 13 or 14 weeks.. We had a great time playing in the snow :-)

"The Big Game" Steelers vs. The 49ners Dec. 2011

So My in-laws favorite team is the Steelers and Our favorite team is the 49ners.. We arrived the day before so we could see our teams play each other... This was the second day of our xmas break trip...It was an intense game and my father in law had set a wager for the bet... The winner gets to pick where ever he wants to have dinner and the loser pays... I kinda didn't think it was a good idea to bet but that was all between my husband and his dad...
My husband and I wearing the 49ners colors
My sister in law Rachel and I decided to show are team spirit by painting our faces.. lol, funny huh... yeah it was so hard to cheer for my team without feeling bad for my father-in-law's team... We still cheered though although it was a more indoor voice cheer... The game ended and the the 49ners won the game... Hooray for us and our 49ners!!!!

"First baby bump Picture"

So I guess I've been horrible at taking pictures of my baby bump... But this was the first one I took.. I was about 11 weeks going on 12 weeks... I still was able to wear my regular clothes... and morning sickness left me losing my job and staying at home since I couldn't stop throwing up. On average I was throwing up like 6 to 8 times daily and sometimes even more... I had lost 2 lbs and the doctor prescribed me some medicine so I could at least hold down some food. The pills didn't stop the whole throwing up but it did minimized the times I threw up. which was some kind of relief. I also had this nasty taste in my mouth that left every food undesirable. I was told to stop taking my prenatal vitamins and take two flintstone vitamins instead and that solved the problem.. I was told by the doctor that I have a very sensitive stomach and thats why I needed to change my vitamins. Who knew this would all happen in just a matter of weeks... lol...

"End of Oct early Nov. 2011 the big surprise"

So it had to be a few days after I had missed my period but I didn't want to tell Garett cause I wanted to make sure before I told him what I was thinking about. All I knew was that I was feeling very tired and sick.

My friend Sammie and I both were in the same boat thinking the same thing... Could it be that I'm pregnant... So right before I took the test I had prayed and told my father in heaven that I would be happy with whatever the result would be... To my surprise it was positive. I really couldn't believe my eyes.. Because of my previous miscarriage I was very nervous and worried to get my hopes up. Time had passed and I took maybe like 5 pregnancy tests, then I told my husband Garett and he was in shock as well. We decided we were not gonna get our hopes up until we had seen the doctor. I was already about say 8 weeks before I saw the doctor and they confirmed that I was pregnant. We had set up our appointment for our first ultra sound at 11 weeks and these are the pictures from that ultra sound. Tears rolled downed my eyes when I first heard the baby's heart beat and not to mention to see the baby move although I couldn't feel it yet.

Garett my husband was so excited and in aww... He looked at me with the biggest smile and an amazed look in his eyes... He told the doctor, " Can u give me more pics, I want to carry one with me everywhere I go"... Then he put one in his hat and I dropped him off back at work...

He had told me he showed all the guys at work and that they were happy for us. He ended up keeping one picture and placed it at work.

I felt so blessed to know that this little baby was gonna stay with us and not leave us...

Catching up with some of our Good friends/ Oct 2011

So my husband had a four day weekend off from work and we decided to go and visit our friends, Kia and Erik Hallman in Memphis. Which is about a four hour drive from where we live...

I was so excited to go, since I haven't seen Kia in such a long time. Our first night there we decided to eat out at the famous Red Lobster. By the way I love their coconut shrimp with their piƱa-colada dipping sauce, mmm...

To the Left is our friends Erik and Kia Hallman

Then there is us gals, Kia and I :-)

The best of friends and battle buddies Garett and Erik... This is a kind of overly friendly shot of them, lol.. but what can you say they spent a year fighting a war together. :-)

Then you have us... Garett and I :-) Excited to be able to leave the military town we live in and go and have fun... These were some great memories, I have to say...

Cultural Festival October 2011

So I know its been forever since I last wrote. But I thought I would get back to my blogging. Now I have more time since I spend most of my day at home.

So starting with this entry I'm just gonna do a brief update to get me caught up to the current stuff... :-)

This picture was taken by my husband Garett when we went to the cultural festival in Nashville, TN. Its has been months that I've been waiting for something fun to do that is free. I usually check the community events to see what fun free things there is to do. And to my surprise this was just what I was looking for.

There were tons of booths set up by all these different groups that were from different countries. We saw different cultural dances and ate foods from different countries.. We also bought these sweet hats made from lama wool... We walked and learned about the different traditions of all the countries that were there... This little trip made me want to travel so bad, but some day will be able to travel the world... Sorry I didn't take more pictures, I think my camera's battery was dying...
